Scott Krugman

Scott Krugman, MD, MS, FAAP is Senior Associate Dean for George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences Regional Medical Campus (RMC) at LifeBridge Health’s Sinai Hospital and the Clinical Operations Director for the Department of Pediatrics at the Herman & Walter Samuelson Children’s Hospital at Sinai. Dr. Krugman graduated from Dartmouth Medical School and completed his residency at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. Prior to joining Sinai, he was Chairman, Department of Pediatrics and Director of Medical Education at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center from 2002-2018. He served as Associate Dean for Medical Education at MFSMC, Georgetown University School of Medicine and Professor of Pediatrics at Georgetown University Medical Center from 2014-2018. From 2018-2024 Dr. Krugman served as Vice Chair of Pediatrics at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.

A board-certified Child Abuse Pediatrician, Dr. Krugman chairs the Baltimore County Child Fatality Review Team and is a member of the Baltimore County Child Protection Review Panel. He has served on numerous statewide child abuse committees and is a faculty member of the Maryland Child Abuse Medical Professionals (CHAMP). Dr. Krugman is a Past-President of the Maryland Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, served on the national American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Community Pediatrics from 2014-2019, and currently is a member of the Executive Committee on the Section of Child Death Review and Prevention. He served as Journal Associate Editor for Hospital Pediatrics from 2011 – 2017 and the Journal Editorial Board for Pediatrics from 2018-2024. Dr. Krugman has been an APEX PAS faculty member since 2021. Dr. Krugman has received numerous awards including the Health Care Delivery Award and Greenberg-Serwint Award for Leadership in Medical Education from the Academic Pediatric Association, the Maryland Chapter American Academy of Pediatrics Pediatrician of the Year Award and Michael Burke Mentorship Award, and multiple residency program teaching awards.
