What are the community boards?

APA’s Community, formerly known as APA’s Listervs, is a members-only email discussion and networking platform designed for interactive discussions and resource sharing with your academician colleagues.

How do I download a list of members from the board?

You must be a community admin of the board for this to work. If you are not showing up as a community admin, please email info@academicpeds.org.

Why is my Post not showing up?

You can post directly to the groups that you are a community admin of.

For posts on any other boards they first must go through moderation. Please be aware that posts are manually approved by the APA team. Posts submitted outside of work hours (8:30am-5pm Eastern) may not be approved until the next workday.

If you notice a post is taking a while to appear please feel free to email us for more information.

Chairs may request to update the information on their respective Region or SIG webpages by submitting details to the APA national office. Please be sure to include the URL of the webpage and the edits you would like made.

Important Reminders:

• APA Membership is a requirement of being a co-chair
• Chairs need to be recruited through this process
• Chairs recruited outside of this process without the APA’s knowledge will not be recognized

2024 Recruitment Schedule Exact Dates are subject to change

• Monday, January 8 - Open Nominations
• Friday, February 16 - APA Team notifies chairs of the current amount of nominations for the open seat
• Wednesday, April 3- Nominations Close (End of Day ET)
• First Week of April: APA Team creates ballots *
• Wednesday, April 10: Ballots Open
• Wednesday, April 24 - Close Ballots (End of Day ET)
• April 25-26 – Ballot Results Calculated
• April 29- May 1- Results announced internally & Nominees Notified
• PAS (May 2-6, 2024) - Results announced Publicly & Groups introduce New Chairs
• Late May - Update APA Website, community boards and chair rosters

*If a group only has one nominee, the chairs may choose between having an election or approving the nominee. The nominee will need to be approved by all the current chairs.

2024 - 2025 Quarterly Chair Meetings

Meeting minutes and a recording of the call will be sent to all chairs 1-2 weeks after the call.
