Maneesh Batra

Maneesh Batra, MD, MPH is Professor of Pediatrics (Neonatology) and Adjunct Professor of Global Health at the University of Washington School of Medicine where he also serves as Associate Division Head for Faculty Affairs and Wellness. Dr. Batra served for more than a decade as Associate Program Director of the UW Pediatric Residency Program, where he helped lead curricular innovation, and systems to support trainee growth and well being. He co founded and continues to direct the UW Resident Education and Advocacy for Child Health (REACH) Pathway, a longitudinal curriculum integrating global health, community pediatrics, and advocacy. Central to REACH is a bidirectional educational partnership with the University of Nairobi that emphasizes equity, reciprocity, and ethical engagement.

Dr. Batra is a co founder and co-principal investigator of the Pediatric Resident Burnout–Resilience Study Consortium (PRB RSC), a national research collaborative developed in partnership with APPD LEARN. The PRB RSC generates benchmarking data and evidence based strategies that have informed program level interventions, national standards, and policy discussions across pediatric graduate medical education.

He has had long standing service with the American Board of Pediatrics, including serving previously as Chair of the Education and Training Committee and currently serves as a member of the ABP Board of Directors. In collaboration with global health education leaders across the ABP, AAP, APA, and APPD he contributed to establishing national residency training standards and the first accreditation pathway for pediatric global health fellowships.
