The Department of Pediatrics at Duke University School of Medicine seeks an exceptional physician leader at the Associate Professor or Professor level, to serve as the next Chief of the Division of Neonatology. We seek a dynamic leader who can inspire excellence, unite diverse stakeholders around a bold vision, and drive meaningful advances in clinical care, research, education, advocacy, and health outcomes. The next Chief will have a unique opportunity to reimagine neonatal and perinatal care delivery, expand the Division’s academic impact, and position Duke as a national leader in advancing the health and well-being of infants and families.

The successful candidate will lead a nationally recognized Division of Neonatology while helping to define and build the future of children’s healthcare through the development of the North Carolina Children’s Hospital, an ambitious collaboration poised to transform pediatric care, research, education, and innovation for generations to come.

The successful candidate will hold an MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree, be board-certified in Neonatology, and be eligible for medical licensure in the State of North Carolina.

As Duke and its partners embark on the development of the future North Carolina Children’s Hospital, the Division Chief will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of neonatal services within a world-class pediatric ecosystem designed to redefine the future of children’s health. This leader will help build programs, partnerships, and innovations that extend far beyond the walls of the NICU, creating lasting impact across North Carolina and beyond.
