New ABP Part 4 Credit Opportunity for Physician Scientists
The American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) has launched a new Physician Scientist Pathway that allows eligible pediatric researchers to earn all 50 MOC Part 4 (Improving Health and Health Care) points through recognition of their research contributions. The pathway is open to pediatricians whose primary career focus is research, including basic science, translational, clinical, and health services research. Eligible applicants must meet at least one research-focused criterion and submit two qualifying publications, a brief statement describing how their work improves child health, and an attestation letter from institutional leadership. Approved applicants receive the full 50 Part 4 points. This pathway joins existing opportunities for Part 4 credit through quality improvement initiatives, educational activities, and leadership-based pathways. Learn more about eligibility and application requirements on the ABP Physician Scientist Pathway webpage.
