An APA signature program, Speed Mentoring, features 10-minute structured conversations between mentees and mentors followed by a group goal-setting discussion. Speed Mentoring takes place at the Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) meeting, the Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) meeting and regional meetings.

This is a fun and fast-paced networking session designed to bring trainees, fellows, and early-career faculty together with mid-career and senior faculty for focused 10-minute discussions on various topics.
Mentees and Mentors
Mentors are APA members who have been in an academic faculty position for 8 years or longer.
Mentees include trainees (residents and fellows) and individuals who are in fellowship or within their first 6–7 years of an academic faculty position.
Mentees should come to the session with questions prepared to make the most of their 10-minute mentor session. Both mentee and mentor CVs will be shared via email prior to the event to help facilitate conversation; however, participants are encouraged to bring a copy as well.
