Pediatric basic, clinical, translational, or health services research in any pediatric subspecialty (supported by the Society for Pediatric Research [SPR])

Eligibility

If applying for the NIDDK pathway, confirm that both you and your chosen mentor(s) are current members of the Academic Pediatric Association; if applying for the PIDS pathway, confirm that both you and your chosen mentor(s) are current members of PIDS; if applying for the SPR pathway, the early career investigator is encouraged to apply for SPR Emerging to Established (E2E) Section membership, if not already a member; mentor must be SPR member.

Proposals are welcome from those who are:

• Faculty members no more than five years out from completion of all training (fellowship or post-doc)
• Fellows in the last year of fellowship

Previous RAPID Scholars and YIA recipients are not eligible to apply.

Proposals

RAPID Scholar Awards will be given with the understanding that the project is initiated and completed within one year. Projects kick off at the annual Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting and are expected to close by the following PAS Meeting.

Proposals should focus on topics related to health services research, medical education, adolescent medicine, public health, epidemiology, emergency medicine, child maltreatment, hospital medicine, developmental/behavioral pediatrics, and other pediatric clinical research domains.

Preference is given to those proposals that have the potential to lead to projects of a larger and longer-term nature.
