Melissa Klein
Dr. Melissa Klein, MD, MEd is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She is a general pediatrician, medical educator, and researcher. At Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, she serves as the Associate Division Director for Career Development and Education in the Division of General and Community Pediatrics, the Associate Director of the Cincinnati Children’s Pediatric Education Center, the Associate Director of the Office of Academic Affairs and Career Development, and the Medical Director of the Masters of Education program.
Her educational research focuses on development, implementation and evaluation of innovative education and training experiences that impact child health. She has created educational experiences to improve resident physician identification of the social determinants of health and mitigation of these risks through development of academic-community partnerships. She serves as the education physician champion of Child HeLP, a primary care embedded medical legal partnership and created interventions to mitigate food insecurity for patients and families in primary care. On the national level she serves an Associate Editor of Education for Academic Pediatrics.
