Ioannis Koutroulis
Dr. Ioannis Koutroulis is a physician-scientist and academic leader whose work lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, pediatric research, and medical education. He leads national initiatives on the integration of AI into undergraduate medical education, admissions, and clinical diagnostics. Dr. Koutroulis is Principal Investigator on NIH-funded projects and Co-Investigator on BARDA initiatives developing AI-based tools for pediatric sepsis detection and medical devices. He designed one of the first AI courses for medical students and served on the AAMC’s national AI Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). His work is grounded in innovative applications of AI and reflects a commitment to preparing the next generation of physicians for a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
