Thanks to all the presenters and speakers, we had another successful Region 4 Meeting on February 8-9, 2020, with over 80 in attendance and over 50 abstracts presented. Dr. Helen Hughes and Dr. Jan Serwint led a well-attended Mentorship workshop for students and residents, alongside a popular Publication Ethics discussion with Dr. Rachel Moon, and a Speed Mentoring session.
We’d like to give a special thanks to Dr. Shawn Ralston, who gave our keynote lecture, entitled “Irrationality in Healthcare.” This year’s award winners included:

Dr. Joseph Lopreiato won the 2020 Greenberg-Serwint Award for Outstanding Leadership in Medical Education.
Our region benefits from strong national representation and we are thankful for leaders that were able to participate in Speed Mentoring and Meet the Professors’ breakfast tables, including John Harrington, Sara Johnson, Clif Lee, Joseph Lopreiato, Lynn McDaniel, John Olsson, Eliana Perrin (chair, Research Committee), Shawn Ralston, Carl Seashore, Ken Schoendorf, Barry Solomon, Mike Steiner (Secretary/Treasurer), and Virginia Randall.
We’d like to announce that Callie Brown, from Wake Forest University, is the incoming co-chair for our region. We are grateful to Rebecca Carlin for her incredible leadership of the region for the last several years. Although we missed saying thanks in person at PAS, stay tuned for a special virtual sendoff for Rebecca this spring!
