Long time APA member and Communications Committee Chair, Dr. Wolfe has been appointed the program director of pediatric residency program at Baylor College of Medicine, San Antonio.
Adam was born and raised in the Chicago area until departing for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for a 15-year stint where he earned his B.S., M.S., Ph.D. in Cell and Developmental Biology, and M.D. He then moved to Madison, Wisconsin for residency in Pediatrics and fellowship in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. During fellowship he discovered a passion for education scholarship and transitioned his academic work to the field of medical education. He then joined the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine at The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio in 2014, where he has been practicing clinically and serving as an inaugural Associate Program Director of the pediatric residency training program over the past 8 years. His scholarly work has focused on curriculum design and evaluation in advanced communication skills and trainee scholarship, culminating in multiple national workshop presentations and publications. Since 2020, he has also served as Assistant Dean for Medical Education for the San Antonio affiliate site of Baylor College of Medicine, responsible for compliance within the overall clinical learning environment, GME budgeting, and relationships with the Dean’s office in Houston. Outside of his professional roles, Dr. Wolfe has a family of four children with his wife Beth and enjoys cooking and baking.
