CALL FOR RESEARCH ABSTRACTS AND CLINICAL CONUNDRUMS
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) and the Academic Pediatric Association (APA) encourage the sharing of scientific research as part of the Pediatric Hospital Medicine 2023 (PHM 2023) conference. Whether you have submitted in the past, or have never submitted, we encourage you to submit your work to PHM 2023.
We are pleased to announce the Call for Research Abstracts and Clinical Conundrums for presentation at the 2023 conference. PHM 2023 will be held August 3 – 6, 2023 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown in Philadelphia, PA.
A standardized, blinded review process for the selection of Research Abstracts and Clinical Conundrums will be used for 2023. High-scoring submissions will be eligible for oral/platform presentation and other quality submissions will be invited as E-Poster presentations.
Please view the PHM 2023 Submission Guidelines for additional information. The Submission Guidelines assist authors in determining the appropriate category for their submission as well as provide required submission information and word/character limitations.

Submission Deadline! Submissions are due Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 11:59 PM ET.

CALL FOR TOP 10 ARTICLES PRESENTER NOMINATIONS
As the undisputed highlight of the PHM conference, presenting Top 10 Articles is both fun and a lot of work. With your co-presenter, you will review twelve months’ worth of articles from over ten journals to select approximately 10 of the most timely, important, and high-potential impact articles to present at the Pediatric Hospital Medicine 2023 (PHM23) Conference. Ideally, this endeavor is a marathon over several months with article reviews and virtual meetings with your co-presenter culminating in an entertaining and informative 60-minute presentation.
The PHM23 Planning Committee is encouraging self-nominations this year. In addition, the Planning Committee is requiring that individuals upload a short one to two minute video of themselves presenting a mock article review. Make it interesting, information, and playful!
Instructions for video uploads:
- Select an article to review.
- Be interesting, informative, and playful in your review of the article.
- Limit your video to 1 to 2 minutes.
- Record your video in an MP4 file format.
- Name your file using your name and “Top 10 Nomination”. Example: John Smith Top 10 Nomination
- Have your recording ready to upload BEFORE completing your nomination form.
- Upload your recording using the link provided in the online nomination form.

CALL FOR PRE-CONFERENCE PROGRAM SPACE REQUESTS
The Pediatric Hospital Medicine 2023 (PHM23) Planning Committee invites all interested parties to submit a proposal for a pre-conference program. All pre-conference programs requested through this process will take place on Thursday, August 3, 2023 between the hours of 7:00am and 12:00pm prior to the start of PHM23. Space is limited and all submitted proposals will be reviewed and acceptance determinations will be made by the PHM23 Planning Committee. The deadline for submitting pre-conference space requests is Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
Please review this Pre-Conference Space Request information prior to submitting a proposal. All proposal submitters will be notified of their acceptance status in late March 2023.
CALL FOR AFFILIATE MEETING SPACE REQUESTS
The PHM23 Planning Committee invites all interested Pediatric Hospital Medicine Affiliated Groups (committees, special interest groups, etc.) to request space to conduct a meeting at PHM23. Space will be provided to interested Affiliated Groups to conduct one-hour meeting on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. The deadline for submitting Affiliated Group meeting space requests is Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
Please review this Affiliated Group Space Request information prior to submitting a request. All space request submitters will be notified of their acceptance status in late March 2023.
