The mission of this SIG is to serve as the hub of support and essential information regarding the well-being and vitality of Academic Pediatric Association members and to promote the collaboration of all APA entities concerned with member well-being.
Our goals are to share essential information/resources regarding APA member well-being, to disseminate new research and best practices regarding promotion of well-being and prevention of burnout for child health professionals in academic settings and to partner with other APA SIGs and entities with overlapping interest in the promotion of wellbeing and resilience among the academic pediatric community.
This SIG was newly created and approved in the fall of 2019. The first SIG event will take place at the Pediatric Academic Societies meeting on May 2, 2020 from 4:45pm-6:45pm. Agenda for that meeting will include a report from the APA Well-being Task Force, a report from APPD Pediatric Resident Burnout Resilience Consortium, and a panel discussion regarding the future of the APA and well-being. Please join us in Philadelphia!
