SIG purpose/mission:
The Fellowship Training SIG is a forum for fellowship faculty, fellows, graduates of fellowship programs, and anyone passionate about fellowship training.
Annual Summary for 2019:
This year we partnered with the Division Directors SIG at PAS. Representatives from the APA research networks described their organizational structures and purposes and give some examples of collaborative projects they have conducted. Two early-stage investigators who received awards presented their research in collaboration with the research networks. As a group, we discussed how fellows and faculty members can use the networks to advance their research agendas. Organizationally, Debra Bogen stepped down as SIG chair, and Sara Johnson and Corinna Rea are continuing. Drs. Johnson and Rea helped to plan the PAS APA Fellows’ Meeting and will do so again next year.
Current SIG goals:
- To support conversation and collaboration among a community of colleagues involved in fellowship training.
- To share and discuss successful strategies, challenges, and curricular innovations in fellowship training.
- To advocate for Academic General Pediatric fellowship training, including funding and other program needs.
