The acclaimed RAPID Mentoring and Career-Development Conference is held in annually in February/March. Residents, fellows, and early-career faculty who have experienced significant adversity and challenges to pursue a research career in academic pediatrics, including socioeconomic factors, growing up in rural areas, and other challenges, hardships, and unique life experiences, and are committed to a career as a clinician-investigator are invited to apply to attend the Conference. Accepted individuals will attend with all expenses paid.

Highlights of this exciting Conference include:

  • A panel discussion, conducted by RAPID NAC Members and Directors, who are leading senior researchers in academic pediatrics
  • A speed-mentoring session in which participants receive mentoring from all RAPID NAC members and Directors
  • Works-in-progress presentations by current RAPID Scholars
  • A Hot Topics session in which Conference attendees get to as NAC Members and Directors
  • Networking opportunities with leaders in a wide variety of pediatric research fields
  • Guidance on creating a career-development plan for academic success
  • Extended one-on-one mentoring from RAPID NAC members
  • A keynote speech by a special luminary leader in academic pediatrics

This year's Conference will be held February 4-6, 2026.
