On behalf of Dr. Glenn Flores, Chair of Pediatrics and Sr. Assoc. The incoming Chief will have the tremendous opportunity to elevate an adolescent medicine section to a division, with the vision to achieve national pre-eminence in the specialty through exceptional clinical care, teaching, research, and advocacy.

Opportunity Highlights:
• The future Division of Adolescent Medicine at the MSOM is poised for significant growth and development under a new visionary leader. The program offers a unique opportunity to work in a multicultural environment, with a diverse patient population, including immigrants from Latin America and the Caribbean, and underserved communities.
• The program is distinguished by its collaborative efforts across multiple specialties, enhancing its ability to provide comprehensive care. Strong partnerships exist with Psychiatry, Psychology, Med-Peds, General/Community Pediatrics, Gynecology, Sports Medicine, and Pediatric Gastroenterology, creating numerous opportunities for shared learning and expertise exchange.
• Opportunities to consider include expanding the eating-disorders program, developing a weight-management clinic, adolescent gynecology, working closely with the School Health Initiative, and establishing a leading Adolescent Medicine Fellowship.
• Building world-class divisional research is also a priority. MSOM clinics, Holtz Children’s Hospital, and the communities of South Florida are a rich environment for cutting-edge clinical, health services, global health, socio-behavioral, community-focused, and public health research.
• Multiple areas of interest will be supported by the Department of Pediatrics, with unique opportunities to be part of the Batchelor Children’s Research Institute, as well as to collaborate with the Mailman Center for Child Development, an academic center at MSOM that is one of the top-10 programs in the United States for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and chronic illness.
• Funds are available to launch an endowed chair in adolescent medicine.
• As part of the Total Rewards benefits package, University of Miami faculty, staff, and eligible dependents can receive tuition remission for undergraduate and most graduate degree programs.
• Miami is known as the top-ranked healthiest city in the United States, where you will enjoy no state taxes, weather that is never cold, endless recreational pursuits, and world-class amenities!
