The APA is looking for individuals who are interested in assisting the PHM24 Planning Committee with planning the 2024 Pediatric Hospital Medicine Meeting. There are many different ways you can help the meeting be successful. Explore the options below and fill out the interest form to volunteer. Volunteers will be considered on a rolling basis per key dates of the meeting's planning.

Positions Available
There is one PHM24 Research Abstract Co-Chair Position available. The commitment is a two-year term starting this year and ending at the conclusion of PHM25.
The PHM24 Research Abstract Co-Chair will work closely with the current Research Abstract Co-Chair to
- Determine any themes for the abstracts
- Review all call for research abstracts materials and approve by deadline specified by the host society staff member.
- Help solicit and select the peer reviewers for all submitted abstracts.
- Review and update meeting Abstract Review Guidelines
- Review and provide edits for submission site.
- Review all peer reviewer scores and the content of the abstracts with partner society staff to compile accepted abstracts for posters, platforms and plenary presentations
- Maximize the number of opportunities to present posters.
- Review and recommend moderators for each of the live presentation sessions and the plenary session to the planning committee.
- Attend PHM24 and PHM25 meetings.
- Debrief the annual process and recommend changes if needed to the next year's process.
The Abstract Co-Chair will receive complimentary registration.
The deadline to apply and/or nominate an individual for the Abstract Co-Chair position is November 1, 2023. Individuals nominated after the deadline will be considered for future years.
Abstract reviewers will review and score submitted abstracts. Each reviewer will be assigned 15-20 abstracts each based on their expertise. Abstract reviews will take place during the month of March. Reviewers will have 2-3 weeks to submit their reviews.
The deadline to apply to be an abstract reviewer is January 5, 2024.
There is one PHM24 Awards Co-Chair Position available. The commitment is a two-year term starting this year and ending at the conclusion of PHM25.
The Awards Co-Chair will work closely with the current Awards Co-Chairs to:
- Review the awards application process in its entirety for necessary updates prior to its deployment
- Work together to review and select submissions
- Notify applicants and awardees
- Review all award nominations and applications
- Review and update types of awards and the criteria for selection
- Develop ways to increase the number of nominations for each award
- Present the awards at PHM in-person
- Attend PHM24 and PHM25 meetings.
- Debrief the annual process and recommend changes if needed to the next year's process.
Planning committee members, the awards lead and the awards committee members are not eligible for nomination for the awards.
The Awards Co-Chair will receive complimentary registration.

There is one PHM24 Clinical Conundrum Co-Chair Position available. The commitment is a two-year term starting this year and ending at the conclusion of PHM25.
The PHM24 Clinical Conundrum Co-Chair will work closely with the current Clinical Conundrum Co-Chair to
- Determine any themes for clinical conundrums
- Review all call for conundrums materials and approve the deadline specified by the host society staff member. Instructions should include submission and presentation tips.
- Help solicit and select the peer reviewers for all submitted conundrums.
- Review and update the “Conundrum Review Guidelines” before it is disseminated to all peer reviewers.
- Review and provide edits for submission site.
- Review all peer reviewer scores and the content of the abstracts to compile accepted conundrums for poster and platform presentations.
- Maximize the number of opportunities to present conundrums
- Review all conundrum presentations chosen for live presentation and provide mentoring to those presenting at least (5) weeks prior to the conference.
- Moderate or review and select moderators for each conundrum live presentation session.
- Attend PHM24 and PHM25 meetings.
- Debrief the annual process and recommend changes if needed to the next year's process.
The Clinical Conundrum Co-Chair will receive complimentary registration.
The deadline to apply and/or nominate an individual for the Clinical Conundrum position is November 1, 2023. Individuals nominated after the deadline will be considered for future years.
Conundrum reviewers will review and score submitted abstracts. Each reviewer will be assigned 15-20 conundrums each based on their expertise. Conundrum reviews will take place during the month of March. Reviewers will have 2-3 weeks to submit their reviews.

The PHM24 Planning Committee is looking for abstract and conundrum session moderators. Moderators will be responsible for introducing the presenters, soliciting, organizing and asking questions.
The deadline to apply to be a moderator is May 1, 2024.
The PHM24 Planning Committee is soliciting speaker and/or ideas for 2024 plenary speakers. Please fill out the interest form to submit your idea(s) and/or nominate a colleague.
Plenary speakers receive complimentary registration and one night lodging.
The deadline to nominate a Plenary Presenter is November 1, 2023. Individuals nominated after the deadline will be considered for future years.
There is one PHM24 Social Media Co-Chair Position available. The commitment is a three-year term starting this year and ending at the conclusion of PHM26.
The PHM24 Social Media Co-Chair may be a resident, fellow, or early career hospitalist and will work closely with the current Social Media Co-Chairs to
- Promote the meeting through social media
- Create and execute a comprehensive social media marketing plan for the meeting
- Distribute social media posts including but not limited to Twitter posts and other social media channels
- Report to PHM Planning Committee as requested and share progress and plans
- Recruit additional cochairs and mentor them to ease the leadership transition
- Social media use must adhere to CME policies and host society policies
The Social Media Co-Chair will receive complimentary registration.

The Top 10 Articles Plenary is one of the most well-attended sessions of the PHM meeting. The PHM24 Planning Committee is soliciting nominations for two Top 10 Articles presenters and one fellow presenter. The presenters will be responsible for a comprehensive literature review of the past year's science and presenting a summary of the articles in a 60-minute plenary session at the 2024 meeting. The 2024 Top Articles presenters will be introduced to the previous year's presenters for on-going mentorship and guidance. Fellows should apply with the form below.
