How do attendings and trainees learn side-by-side (or co-learn)? What is a common model by which this occurs? How do faculty manage asymmetry that may occur during co-learning? In this qualitative study, we explore the various ways faculty and trainees identify mutual learning opportunities and how faculty manage asymmetry that occurs during these instances.
