Dear APA members,
It gives us great pleasure and pride to announce the formation of the National Academy of Distinguished Educators in Pediatrics (NADEP) within the Academic Pediatric Association. Our goal in creating this distinguished academy was to enhance the visibility and prestige of pediatric educators across all academic institutions in the United States, and support the national educational community. The NADEP recognizes national experts in pediatric education, using a rigorous selection process and create a program of consultation, mentoring, and speaking activities.
After a rigorous application and external peer review process, we are excited to announce the 2020 inaugural cohort of the distinguished pediatric educators who will form the initial members of the NADEP. Please take a moment to read through their impressive biosketches.
It is our anticipation that these distinguished educators will support the mission of the APA and facilitate the professional growth of our members. These distinguished educators will serve in the following roles:
- Topic experts for consultations/visiting professorships at academic institutions
- National peer reviewers for educational credentials of pediatric faculty, including helping educators who are preparing for promotion, or promotion committees that need expert reviews.
- Mentors/coaches for junior faculty with shared areas of interest.
- A think tank to set future directions in pediatric education.
Please join us in congratulating your colleagues on this prestigious honor!
