Susan “Sue” Bostwick, MD, MBA, is now the President of the Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) Meeting Board of Directors. Judith “Judy” Shaw, EdD, MPH is now the PAS Meeting Program Chair. Teri L. Turner, MD, MPH, MEd is appointed to the PAS Board of Directors.
Sue Bostwick will serve as the President from July 2022 – June 2024. Dr. Bostwick is a former past-president of the Academic Pediatric Association (APA), former PAS workshop chair and the co-director for APA’s Advancing Pediatric Leader Program. She is the first APA member to serve in this role. She is Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, Executive Vice Chair for Administration and Faculty in the Department of Pediatrics and Chief of the Division of General Academic Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine. In addition, she is Associate Dean for Affiliations at Weill Cornell. Dr. Bostwick attended the Simon School at University of Rochester, where she received her MBA in 1987. In 1993, she received her MD at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and then completed her residency at New York Hospital, where she also served as Chief Resident.
Judy Shaw will serve as PAS Meeting Program Chair from July 2022 through June 2024. She is the first non-pediatrician to serve in this prestigious role. Dr. Shaw is a former APA secretary and has held various APA leadership program roles including Bright Futures young investigator award (YIA) program chair and the Quality Improvement Science Abstract Chair. She recently retired as the Executive Director of Vermont Child Health Improvement Program (VCHIP) and Executive Director of the National Improvement Partnership network (NIPN). Dr. Shaw received her EdD from the University of Vermont, her MPH from Boston University School of Public Health, her BLS from Yale University, and her RN from Children’s Hospital, School of Nursing, Boston.
Teri Turner will serve on the PAS Board of Directors from July 2022 – June 2025. Dr. Turner is the immediate past-president of the APA and has served in numerous APA leadership roles throughout her tenure as an APA member. She is Professor of Pediatrics, Vice Chair of Education and an Endowed Chair in Medical Education at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. She earned her MD from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, her MPH from the University of Texas Health Science Center and she is board certified in both General Pediatrics and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics.
