Dear Colleagues,
For more than 20 years, Academic Pediatrics, has been the premier peer-reviewed publication strengthening the scholarly impact of academic general pediatrics. Through the journal, the Academic Pediatric Association (APA) continues to provide unparalleled leadership in pediatric education, research, patient care, quality improvement science, and advocacy, and today, we are pleased to announce its next evolution.
Last year, the APA provided you, our members with the opportunity to opt-in to receive the printed version of the journal, and an overwhelming 97% of you chose to receive the electronic subscription. We heard you, and we are extremely excited that going forward, Academic Pediatrics will be exclusively an online publication for APA members. You will continue to receive the high-quality scholarly publications that you have come to expect, only now it will be available online-only. Please do sign up for the many content alerts available (Please also note that some supplements may continue to be printed, as per sponsor agreement.)
We are aware of the negative impact a printed journal has on our environment and this change comes with not only increased accessibility but also important environmental benefits. The APA stands committed to doing our part to lesson our impact on climate change and to promote sustainable consumption practices. We hope this to be one of many steps we can take to as we continue to improve our carbon footprint.
As always, thank you for all that you do for your patients, students, patients’ families, and APA.
We hope our 2022 is off to a healthy start.
