Division Director, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

Cincinnati Children’s, Cincinnati, OH

Shape the Future of Pediatric Mental Health: Lead one of the nation’s most comprehensive child psychiatry programs at Cincinnati Children’s, a top-ranked children’s hospital.

The Opportunity:

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a visionary, collaborative leader to serve as Division Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. This high-impact leadership role is central to the development of the Mental and Behavioral Health Institute (MBHI)—an ambitious effort to integrate psychiatry, psychology, and developmental behavioral pediatrics into a unified model of care.

The Division Director will oversee a large and diverse team delivering care across inpatient, outpatient, residential, and school-based settings, while also helping shape institutional strategy, workforce development, and academic programming in mental and behavioral health.

The Division:

The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (DCAP) at Cincinnati Children’s is a nationally respected program with 44 faculty, supported by 175+ social workers and clinical counselors. The division delivers a full continuum of care—from home- and school-based support to acute inpatient services—across seven sites, 70+ schools, and a new 99-bed psychiatric facility at the College Hill campus.

In FY24, DCAP handled:

  • 57,812 outpatient visits
  • 6,756 ED encounters
  • 5,691 partial hospital visits
  • 31,160 inpatient days
  • 8,060 residential days

The division also maintains a nationally recognized research program with $5M+ in annual funding, focusing on areas such as neurodevelopmental disorders, suicide prevention, and translational neuroscience. Educational offerings include a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship and a Triple Board Residency, each approved for four trainees per year.

The division is committed to inclusive, culturally informed care and maintains strong community partnerships, making it both a local leader and a national thought partner in advancing youth mental health.
