We are seeking a compassionate and skilled General Pediatrician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring their overall health and development. This role includes diagnosing and treating illnesses, offering preventive care, vaccinations and guiding families on proper child health practices.
The pediatrician that joins our practice should commit to the mission of the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health to promote healthcare to improve the quality of life and optimize the developmental potential of all children with particular attention to ethnic minorities and the prevention and treatment of diseases prevalent in those populations.
Responsibilities
Conduct routine check-ups, physical exams, and developmental assessments
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses in children and adolescents
Administer vaccinations and provide immunization guidance
Offer preventive healthcare services, including nutrition and lifestyle counseling
Monitor growth and development, addressing any health concerns
Educate parents and caregivers on children’s health, safety, and disease prevention
Coordinate care with specialists when needed and refer patients for advanced treatment
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
Stay updated on the latest pediatric medical advancements and best practices
Collaborate with colleagues in the outpatient clinical setting
Participate in community outreach events when available
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics
Valid state medical license to practice as a pediatrician
Proven experience in pediatric care (preferred but not required for new graduates)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children and families
Ability to handle pediatric emergencies and provide compassionate care
Adolescent medicine expertise will be favorably considered, but is not required
