Objectives
The Educational Scholars Program assists pediatric academicians focused on education and leadership development in developing themselves as fulfilled faculty members engaged in educational scholarship
Who should apply?
Fellows, junior faculty, and mid-career faculty in general pediatrics, pediatric hospital medicine, child abuse pediatrics, developmental behavioral pediatrics, pediatric emergency medicine, and other related disciplines who want to create an education portfolio, experience mentored education scholarship and/or who are trying to define an academic focus in educational scholarship in their careers.
Curriculum
The curriculum includes didactic sessions, self-directed learning activities, development of an educator portfolio, and a mentored project. Scholars are expected to complete the full curriculum, including projects, over 3-4 years.

Health Policy Scholars Program
Objectives
The Health policy Scholars Program (HPSP) is a NEW 3-year faculty development program designed to educate APA members on the development of a systematic and scholarly approach to health policy and advocacy. The primary goal of the APA HPSP is to prepare scholars for a successful academic career in public policy and advocacy through mentorship, networking and designing projects that meet the standards for professional review.
Who should apply?
APA members (e.g., pediatric advocates, clinicians, educators or researchers) in early or mid-career interested in a scholarly approach to public policy and advocacy are encouraged to apply.
Curriculum
The curriculum includes didactic sessions, design and execute a scholarly project focused on child health and well-being within the current policy landscape, develop a structured advocacy portfolio, and a mentored project. Scholars are expected to complete the full curriculum, including projects, over 3 years.

The Research Scholars Program assists pediatric clinician-educators and clinician-researchers in developing themselves as fulfilled faculty members engaged in important and exciting research that increases the quality and breadth of child health research.
Who should apply?
Fellows, junior faculty, and mid-career faculty in general pediatrics, pediatric hospital medicine, child abuse pediatrics, developmental behavioral pediatrics, pediatric emergency medicine, and other related disciplines who want to increase their research skills, experience a mentored research project, and/or who are trying to define an academic focus in research in their careers.
Curriculum
Through didactic webinars and small group work, scholars will refine her/his research protocol, implement the research project, and end with a completed project submitted for presentation and/or publication. Scholars are expected to complete the full curriculum, including projects, over 3-4 years.

Quality and Safety Improvement Scholars Program
Objectives
The Quality and Safety Scholars Program assists pediatric faculty and advanced practice providers in developing themselves as fulfilled faculty members in quality and safety improvement science.
Who should apply?
Fellows, junior faculty, and mid-career faculty in general pediatrics, pediatric hospital medicine, child abuse pediatrics, developmental behavioral pediatrics, pediatric emergency medicine, and other related disciplines who want to improve the quality or safety outcomes in the applicant’s institution, and/or who are trying to define an academic focus in improvement science in their careers.
Curriculum
The curriculum includes yearly participation in the Quality Improvement Science conference, didactic webinars, ongoing collaborative learning, and completion of a mentored improvement project
