SCCAMRS Medical Director Opportunity
Columbia, SC
The University of South Carolina School of Medicine (USCSOM) is seeking a board – certified child abuse pediatrician to provide programmatic oversight of the SC Children’s Advocacy Medical Response System (SCCAMRS). This statewide child abuse medical program was established in 2004 to address the shortage and training of medical providers specializing in the medical evaluation of child maltreatment and the disparity in quality and delivery of these services. Currently the state program is a network of child abuse pediatricians, other providers, and sexual assault/forensic nurse examiners qualified to deliver medical services. The state program is the comprehensive resource system for clinical, educational, quality improvement, legislative advocacy and funding support. SCCAMRS was statutorily codified in 2014.
The physician will also serve as the Director of the Prisma Health-Midlands Child Abuse Pediatrics division. The prospective candidate must have a minimum of 5-year clinical experience, administrative proficiency, and possess outstanding leadership and communication skills. The applicant will have an academic faculty appointment with USCSOM.
