The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the UC Davis Health School of Medicine and the UC Davis Children’s Hospital are recruiting for a full-time Academic Pediatric Leukemia-Lymphoma Hematologist-Oncologist to join the Divisions Leukemia-Lymphoma Program, at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) or Professor of Clinical (X) series.

 

This position will primarily focus on the clinical and translational research of Pediatric Leukemia-Lymphoma including (but not limited to) developmental immune therapeutics, clinical trials, adolescent and young adult cancers, stem cell transplantation, and survivorship, with opportunities for advancement/leadership within the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Division and Leukemia-Lymphoma program. The proposed candidate will have multiple opportunities for collaboration within the UC Davis Health System, including close collaborations with expert investigators in the NCI-designated UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, UC Davis School of Public Health, UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine (Veterinary Cancer Center), Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, Center for Biophotonics Science and Technology, and the Institute for Regenerative Cures. Proven excellence in clinical care, teaching, and translational research is required.

 

The Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology is a dynamic growing team comprised of eight specialty physicians and two nurse practitioners. The division provides care to 100-120 new pediatric oncology patients per year and participates in the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), a federally funded cooperative dedicated to the treatment of childhood cancers. Our Pediatric Hematology-Oncology team providers diagnose and treat patients with various blood disorders and all types of malignancies, including leukemia, lymphoma, brain, and other solid tumors in our regional treatment center. As part of a major UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center expansion, a new Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Clinic and Infusion Center was opened in 2012.

 

The UC Davis Children’s Hospital is based on the UC Davis Health System campus in Sacramento, California serving a population of over 1 million children in the Northern California, Central Valley, and Western Nevada regions. Sacramento is an easily accessible, family-oriented city in close proximity to the San Francisco Bay area, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the California coast, and Napa Valley.
