Job Summary: The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Department of Pediatrics seeks a Pediatrician to join one other physician in developing a new practice at our state of the art Summey Medical Pavilion in North Charleston. As this medical pavilion offers more than 27 pediatric specialty clinics in one location, it will be an ideal location for a primary care practice that blends typical pediatric patients and care with an additional focus on Charleston’s medically complex children.

Ideal Candidates:

  • Board Certified or Eligible by the ABP
  • Commitment to MUSC’s educational missions
  • Eligible for licensure in South Carolina
  • Strong interest in working with both typical pediatric as well as medically complex children

Opportunity Details:

  • Participates in Patient-Centered Medical Home activities
  • Displays a strong commitment to Evidence-Based Medicine and Quality Improvement in teaching and practice
  • Shares call with existing General Pediatrics faculty members, to include weekend nursery and circumcision coverage
  • Practice located at MUSC’s Summey Medical Pavilion
  • Labs, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Work on site
  • Practice will have care manager
  • Full complement of medical staff
  • Opportunities to work with trainees expected as the clinic becomes established

The MUSC Children’s R. Keith Summey Medical Pavilion, which opened in 2019, offers comprehensive specialty clinics, outpatient surgery, diagnostic imaging, infusion procedures, and support services such as lab and pharmacy, and urgent care in one convenient location. This medical pavilion has been designed exclusively for children and offers hassle-free parking, easy access from major roadways and convenient bus transit services.
