The Herman and Walter Samuelson Children’s Hospital at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland seeks a BC/BE General Pediatrician to join our Greenspring Pediatric Associates practice and the Division of General Pediatrics.  This position is an academic outpatient position.

We invite you to join a collegial group of dedicated medical professionals who work collaboratively to provide outstanding and family-centered medical care to our patients and families in Baltimore and the surrounding region and strive to provide excellent outpatient training to medical students and our pediatric residents.  The ideal candidate should have an interest in teaching, community pediatrics, and serving underserved communities.  The position is available to start on July 1, 2023, and offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including wRVU and quality incentive bonus opportunities, annual CME support and potential relocation assistance.

Our Department

  • Our division is part of the Department of Pediatrics at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. Sinai Hospital, established in 1866, is the largest community hospital in Maryland and is part of the LifeBridge Health (LBH) system.
  • The Department of Pediatrics at Sinai includes 40 full-time faculty members including more than 15 different sub-specialties.
  • Sinai has the only nationally accredited pediatric training program in a Maryland community hospital with a free-standing pediatric residency program that includes a total of 25 residents.
  • Sinai Hospital is becoming a Regional Medical Campus for the George Washington University April 2023 and Pediatrics at Sinai is a teaching site for medical students from George Washington University, Johns Hopkins University and visiting international medical students.
  • Faculty appointments commensurate with experience are available from our affiliated medical institutions.

Our Practice

  • Greenspring Pediatrics was founded as a combined residency continuity clinic and faculty practice in the 1970s by Dr. Evan Charney. There are many opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • The division includes seven attending physicians and two locations including Loch Raven Pediatrics.
  • Plans are underway to move to a new facility in the next few years.
  • We serve a very diverse patient population: the local orthodox Jewish and Park Heights communities, many recent immigrants from Spanish-speaking countries, as well as countries in Asia and Africa. A higher proportion of patients are insured with a Medicaid plan.
  • We are seeking candidates that reflect our diverse patient population.
  • Daily responsibilities include caring for your own panel of patients, supervising medical students and residents for acute care and continuity clinic with 4 residents. Teaching time for resident and student teaching is supported.
  • On call phone coverage is divided amongst the entire general pediatric division.
  • We are supported by The Herman & Walter Samuelson Children’s Hospital on the Sinai campus that has nursery, pediatric emergency, and inpatient hospital coverage for our patients.

The hospital campus is ideally located within easy driving distance of the Baltimore Inner Harbor, National Aquarium, Hippodrome Theater, Orioles Park at Camden Yards, and the Baltimore Ravens M&T Bank Stadium. About the Organization

 

The Herman & Walter Samuelson Children’s Hospital at Sinai is located in Baltimore, Maryland, and serves the local community.  We have a state of the art Children’s Hospital, with 20 acute beds and 6 bed PICU, 24 bed NICU, full term nursery, and outpatient facilities for the primary care practice as well as subspecialty pediatrics.  Our department is associated with George Washington University School of Medicine, so there is opportunity for academic appointment.
