The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Infectious Disease, in the College of Medicine at the University of Kentucky is currently seeking a faculty member to provide quality subspecialty care to patients. The division’s responsibilities lie in the area of primary care, secondary care for children with problems that fall within the area of expertise of practicing physicians and tertiary care these patients.

 

Responsibilities

 

This position will offer comprehensive evaluations and treatment plans to support the primary care provider in managing the care of patients with infectious diseases.

This position will also serve as Division Chief of Infectious Disease in the Department of Pediatrics. Administration activities such as advancing the mission and vision of the division, mentorship of its members, streamlining of clinical services, excellence in interdisciplinary care, and strategic planning for the future in alignment of the goals of the College of Medicine, Kentucky Children’s Hospital and UK HealthCare.

The selected candidate will provide patient care to infants, children and adolescents. The faculty member will also serve as an attending physician for the pediatric infectious diseases service, supervising a team of students and residents, to provide on-call coverage. In addition, this position will also contribute to the education of future physicians by supervising students and residents assigned to pediatric inpatient and outpatient services. Research and academic opportunities are also available.

 

Qualifications

 

MD, DO or equivalent; Completion of Pediatric Residency and Fellowship from an accredited program; Required License/Registration/Certification; Board eligible/certified in Pediatrics and Infectious Disease Current licensure, or eligibility for licensure, to practice medicine in the state of Kentucky
