Denver Health, in collaboration with the University of Colorado School of Medicine (CUSOM), is seeking a clinically skilled and experienced leader, clinician, educator, and scholar, for the position of Director of Service of General Pediatrics in the department of Ambulatory Care Services.

The Director of Service of General Pediatrics (DOS) will be an individual who has a passion for providing outstanding care to the underserved, a desire to improve health care systems and processes, the ability to mentor faculty in research and quality improvement activities, the leadership skills to engage staff at all levels, and an enduring commitment to training the next generation of physicians and other health care professionals. The DOS oversees: 3 large pediatric community health center clinics,19 school-based health centers (including their co-located behavioral health staff), a variety of community/public health programs overseen by the division (including the mobile health units), nurse family partnership, the community health immunization program, the SAFE center for children who have suffered from abuse or neglect, and academic mentorship for outpatient pediatricians working in any department at Denver Health. The DOS has 7 direct reports, oversees a division of 75 providers (half of whom are advanced practice providers), a total of 207 staff, and a budget of $45 million.

The DOS will be a mid-career to senior faculty member, qualified to be appointed to the rank of Associate Professor or Professor of Pediatrics at the CUSOM. The Director should have a demonstrated reputation of excellence in clinical care, teaching, professionalism, leadership, mentorship, and scholarship.
