The Department of Pediatrics at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and the Georgetown University School of Medicine is seeking a Chief for its Division of General Pediatrics.  The Division of General Pediatrics provides almost 13,000 annual outpatient visits and supervises residents in Pediatrics and Med-Peds as well as Georgetown medical students at MGUH and satellite locations.

 

Responsibilities

 

As the Chief for General Pediatrics, the individual will be responsible for overseeing the planning and directing of clinical operations and the development of pediatric services at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, overseeing the Section on Adolescent Medicine and the Pediatric Hospitalist Section. Additionally, the Chief will ensure that medical education for Georgetown University as well as clinical and basic science research initiatives are designed and implemented where appropriate.  The Chief will ensure these activities are carried out according to the Hospital(s), MedStar Medical Group (MMG), and MedStar Health policies and standards.

 

Qualifications

 

The candidate, who must be board certified in Pediatrics, should be committed to developing a program of excellence in clinical care, research, and education.  A strong academic background with an outstanding record of achievement in clinical education is highly desirable.  Candidates must show evidence of leadership with strong administrative and interpersonal skills.
