The Department of Pediatrics at Rutgers Robert Wood Medical School is seeking to hire a faculty member in the division of Population Health, Quality, and Implementation Science (PopQuIS), which houses ambulatory primary care pediatrics and our generalist research mission (Lawrence Kleinman, MD, MPH Division Director). The RWJMS Department of Pediatrics is advancing its academic mission for general pediatrics on an exciting new trajectory. PopQuIS is emerging as a national leader developing programs in health services and health policy research, and quality, safety and implementation sciences.
We are looking for pediatric residency trained physicians to see patients and mentor students and residents at our outpatient facility at 1 World’s Fair Drive, Somerset, NJ. Opportunities to contribute to scholarly activities and the educational mission are available as appropriate to the successful candidate.
Our physicians share all call, weekend and holiday coverage. We round on our newborn patients at two nearby hospitals and will resume rounding for our hospitalized / sick patients when the COVID pandemic subsides. In addition to the primary site, clinicians may be asked to spend up to one day per week at a satellite site in Ocean County supported by our practice.
We are seeking candidates with a passion for teaching who enjoy providing primary care for children with a wide variety of conditions including those who are medically complex. We value leadership. Applicants with research training and a portfolio of scholarly productivity are encouraged. As a part of Rutgers University RWJMS faculty have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in the basic and social sciences, other clinical arms of the university (e.g. Social Work, Pharmacy) and the Rutgers School of Public Health, among others. We encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds and experience including those underrepresented in medicine.
Candidate must have an MD or DO degree and be board-certified or board eligible in pediatrics.
