Connecticut Children’s Specialty Group, Inc., a subsidiary of Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, has an immediate opening for a full time academic general pediatrician to join our medical staff and provide outpatient primary care and teaching.

Division of Primary Care faculty provide pediatric primary care for the majority of children living in Hartford, with over 50,000 outpatient visits across our 4 sites annually. Our clinics are the primary teaching sites for ambulatory and continuity clinic experiences for the Pediatric Residency Program as well as medical students from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Division members teach evidence-based clinical pediatrics to the next generation of pediatric health care providers, and pursue original research and vigorous advocacy around issues important to children, families and the public. Our activities place special emphasis on caring for children with special health-care needs, including disadvantaged children, children growing up in low-income families, and children with complex and chronic medical conditions. Integrated behavioral health is offered in all of our primary care centers. The division houses innovative, community-wide clinical programs such as the Connecticut  Children’s Regional Lead Poisoning Treatment Center and the Reach Out and Read program.

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center is a tertiary care teaching hospital which serves as the primary pediatric teaching site for the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.  We also have partnerships with the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, and with the Jackson Laboratory, a national leader in genomics research.  The Office for Community Child Health is a leader in community-based prevention and wellness programs with initiatives that support children and families throughout the country.  CT Children’s is the only hospital in the state exclusively dedicated to the care of children, and was recently named as a top children’s hospital in the U.S. News and World Report Survey in four specialties. The hospital has a Level 1 Trauma Center designation and a full complement of pediatric subspecialists, with a medical staff of more than 1,000 providers delivering comprehensive, world-class health care in more than 30 pediatric specialties. CT Children’s offers a competitive salary and benefits package and is an Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action Employer.
