To increase pediatric resident engagement in the Academic Pediatric Association, the APA is offering small travel grants for residents to attend their respective APA Region Meeting. Individuals in their second-year of residency are eligible to apply.
How to Apply
Residents must submit an application including the components listed below. Applications for the 2022 Region Meetings are due September 1, 2022.
This checklist will help applicants to ensure all materials are completed in the acceptable format. This checklist should not be submitted with the travel grant application. Each applicant must include the following in their submission:
- Cover Page
- Letter of Intent (LOI)
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Letter(s) of Support
All application materials must be combined into a single PDF (NOT a PDF Portfolio) for submission in the order they are listed on the Application Checklist. The .pdf should be labeled using the following format: REP_FirstInitialLastName.pdf. For example, REP_JSmith.pdf.
The Region Chairs of each APA Region will review submissions and determine the recipients of the travel grants. The number of grants awarded is dependent upon the availability of funds and up to the discretion of each APA Region Chair. Incomplete submissions will NOT be considered for review.
Travel Grant Guidelines
Applicants selected to receive a travel grant are expected to attend their respective APA Region Meeting in order to receive the funds. Checks will be distributed either at the meeting or mailed shortly after the conclusion of the meeting.
