DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday\, November 2 at 12:00 pm EST for a webinar on State-Level DEI Laws and Policies presented by the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Director of State Advocacy\, Omonigho Ufomata. \nThe June 29\, 2023 Supreme Court decision against Harvard and the University of North Carolina effectively ended affirmative action and race-conscious admissions practices in higher education. This decision left many academic institutions with ambiguity around how best to support admission of a diverse student body under the new decision. \nOmonigho Ufomata\, the director of state advocacy at the American Academy of Pediatrics\, will share a legislative landscape of current state-level laws around diversity\, equity\, and inclusion efforts\, challenges to DEI efforts\, and advocacy opportunities. \nThis session will be the first in a series of APA-sponsored events to help our members continue to navigate recruitment and retention of a diverse pediatrics workforce. \nPlease register below:
