About
PAS was cancelled but Speed Mentoring isn’t! The Speed Mentoring Task Force has found a way to bring you this program from your location! This is a fun and face-paced networking session designed to bring early career faculty and fellows together with mid-career and senior faculty. Utilizing Zoom, mentees will be assigned to a track and will have 10 minutes for one-one-on mentoring with each mentor assigned to their track. After completion of the speed mentoring activity, the entire small group (mentors and mentees) in each track will meet together for a lively discussion of mentees’ short and long-term goals.
Mentors are APA members who have been in an academic faculty position for 8-10 years or longer. Mentees are APA members who are in fellowship or in their first 6 years of an academic faculty position. Mentees should come to the session with questions prepared to make the most of the 10 minutes per mentor.
To accommodate time zones and the virtual format, Speed Mentoring will take place over two days, Thursday, July 16 and Tuesday, July 21 from 12 pm ET – 430 pm ET. Each day will feature a different track. Participants will receive copies of CVs prior to the event.
