The annual combined Region VII and VIII meeting is coming up and we want you to join us! We will again join the Southern Regional Meeting to be held in New Orleans February 25-27, 2010. This year’s program will include an exciting Joint Plenary Session entitled ‘A Case-Based Approach to a Chronic Disease: Examining Sickle Cell Disease From Bench to Bedside, From Conventional Therapy to Innovation.’ In addition, we would like to encourage you and your trainees to submit abstracts for this meeting. The abstract submission site is now open and can be accessed at http://srm2010.abstractcentral.com. The deadline for abstract submissions is October 16, 2009 at midnight Eastern Time. We look forward to seeing you all there presenting during platform and poster sessions!
We are pleased to announce that Annamaria Church will be Region VIII newest regional co-chair, beginning May 2010 at PAS. Dr. Church has been involved with the APA for many years, and has particular interests in child abuse and neglect, as well as residency education. She spent many years in Michigan, and is currently the director of the general pediatric division at TC Thompson Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Please welcome her aboard!
