We look forward to seeing all the Region 6 members at our breakfast Monday, May 3rd from 7:00am - 8:00am in Oceanview 7 in the Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel.
Come congratulate our two travel award recipients, Dr. Andrew Hashikawa and Dr. Michael Johnson. Dr. Hasikawa, an Emergency Medicine Fellow at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin is using his funds to present his poster: "Impact of the New American Academy of Pediatrics Return to Child Care Recommendations". Dr. Johnson, a third year pediatric resident at Mayo Clinic, is using his funds for his platform presentation: Impact of Real Property Data as a Socioeconomic Measure on Risk of Infectious Disease; and his poster: "Real Property Data and the Risk of Infectious Disease". Both posters will be available for viewing at our breakfast. We will have a brief business meeting which will include a discussion regarding our Fall meeting.
Although spring really hasn't arrived yet in much of Region 6 and many of us are finishing up our preparation for Vancouver, the Region 6 chairs would like our members to: Save the Date, Friday October 22 for our Fall meeting in Lake Geneva, WI. The meeting will be held in conjunction with the Children's Hospital of WI/Children's Specialty Group's Free CME Conference: Best Practices in Pediatrics. The Best Practices will be held on October 22 and 23rd. We will have our meeting on Friday during the Best Practices Board Review for the ABP Recertification exam. On Saturday Oct. 23 Region 6 members can take advantage of the free and high quality general pediatric CME that the Best Practices in Pediatrics provides. During our Vancouver breakfast we will solicit and finalize the format for the fall meeting, but think it should be a great venue for abstract and workshop presentations.
Our fall meeting will be a family friendly event set at the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa. Check out the links to the resort; www.grandgeneva.com and their water park; www.timberridgeresort.com, to see all the fun your family can have! We will receive a reduced room rate of $149/night. Who knows we may even hit peak leaf color!!!
