Michele Saysana; Mark W. Shen
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify scientific literature most relevant to pediatric hospital medicine in the past year
  2. Critically appraise the quality of the results and the conclusions of this literature
  3. Apply knowledge gleaned from these reports to improve care for individual patients and populations
  4. Identify knowledge gaps and research opportunities in the field of pediatric hospital medicine

This session aims to highlight 10 articles from the past 12 months that are most relevant to pediatric hospitalists. Building upon past years' successes, articles will be selected throughout the year via an open nomination process as well as comprehensive review of the recent literature by the presenters. Strengths and limitations of the selected works will be critically appraised. Upon completion of this presentation, participants should be able to identify opportunities to assimilate the relevant evidence from these articles into their daily practice. This session is geared towards practitioners of general inpatient hospital pediatrics.
